While she started out as a 3 month old, skinny, hairless, little pup. She is now a much larger 5 month old with soft velvety hair coming through her once mange riddled skin. She still has a way to go with her treatment, her skin is still very sensitive, but she seems to be adjusting nicely. Once comfortable and feeling better, Solstice emerged from her shell. Solstice is a versatile young girl that will thrive with any dog or pack. She plays well with the older dogs; HOWEVER, if she has a fellow pup, she is in playtime heaven. Solstice also gets along with cats!
Although Solstice is hearing impaired, she senses movements or vibrations. This perfect imperfection does not phase her in the slightest. To get her attention, her foster mom I do a lot of hand gestures or wave a white towel (which we think is really her surrendering to Solstice’s cuteness!). The one nice thing about this is loud noises don’t seem to bother her. She’s fearless with thunder or fireworks.
When Solstice is tired from playing, she loves to curl up with her dog family. However, her favorite cuddle buddies are her people. Solstice’s best friend is her foster’s 4 year old daughter. There are many of evenings when they lay on the couch to wind down and both fall fast asleep, snoring together. Snoring like a little piglet, Solstice has the most endearing sleep.. She eats like one too.
Solstice does not have a single mean bone in her body. She is SUGAR, SPICE, AND EVERYTHING NICE. She LOVES to be outside and play.
Her deep, dark, soulful eyes will melt butter faster than butter on a hot day. She looks at you and you turn into putty.
We believe Solstice is a Lab and American Bull Dog mix. She is working on her basic commands, manners, and potty training. An eager student, Solstice is doing well!
