SHAMUS ADOPTED 12/24/11 LIVING FOREVER FREEIN RHODE ISLAND
Shamus, a mixed breed puppy, was found roaming the streets of North Carolina alone and terrified. Dumped to fend for himself at only 9 weeks old, he was tiny and fragile. Sweet little Shamus ended up in a highly overcrowded gassing shelter where euthanasia for space is all too common. Shamus is a curious little boy with an outgoing personality. Right before the holidays a foster approached us requesting to foster Shamus. The foster noticed the sweet unique mix on a shelter urgent list, after seeing him neither Twenty Paws nor our foster could bare seeing this sweet boy gassed to death. Once he was vaccinated and neutered, Shamus was transported to Connecticut. In his foster home he enjoyed wrestling and playing with his foster siblings. Soon after his arrival, Twenty Paws posted his story on their Facebook page, Shamus and his story touched people everywhere. Just in time for Christmas, Twenty Paws found him a forever home that any dog would be blessed to have. Santa delivered Shamus on Christmas Eve to two wonderful little girls and their parents! Shamus is now living forever free in Rhode Island with the perfect family fit for him! (Because we all know that it’s the dog that chooses us not the family that chooses the dog!)
