Meet adorable Kristyn! She is a 4-5 year old 55lb pittie mix that endured more heartache than one can imagine in a lifetime. However, she does not live in the past and continues to be grateful for all that’s ahead of her! Life with Kristyn is magical. She is always ready and willing to take on an easy or active day with you, loves car rides, and cant wait to see her favorite and trusted humans! With her, there is never a dull moment. Kristyn enjoys time outside, playing, walking, and prancing on a pack walk with other dogs. With the new year, Kristyn is working on increasing her endurance to go beyond snoozing after a short walk. She loves a good 30 min walk followed by a siesta…for the rest of the day. So, a walk first thing in the morning does her soul a lot of good! It’s like her morning coffee or peloton yoga session (Cody Rigsby and Kendell Toole- she is smitten with you!). It sets her up for a successful day! Usually, she will rise from her am nap for a good afternoon walk- then its time for her pm nap. With the proper energy outlet, any nervous energy dissipates and you get a wiggly princess. Kristyn lets you know what she is thinking by voicing her opinion, using body language, and, probably her most powerful weapon, batting those big doe eyes. All you need to do is ‘listen’ and you will know how to help her succeed! Kristyn knows how cute she is and has the power to melt your heart. Her ideal human is someone that will help her harness her powers for good and not be overly enchanted by her. A little bit is ok, but Kristyn thrives with having boundaries, direction, and a mission. When she knows what is expected of her, all her worries tend to melt away. Kristyn is housebroken and crate trained- its her haven. She gets along well with her canine foster brother and is very laid back around the house cat. Thanks to her foster brother, Kristyn is learning how to play with dogs and enjoy the outdoors. She has the time of her life running into a stream and making art with her wet paws and mud. She has serious talent! Originally, Kristyn was rescued from the ACC by another organization. After working with her quite a bit and several unsuccessful adoption attempts, they reached out to us for help. Although well meaning, misguided attempts to integrate/incorrectly force her into interactions she was uncomfortable with. As a result, Kristyn distrusted strangers and wanted to protect herself from more heartache. We took Kristyn under our wing and into our behavior program for a full evaluation and training. Thankfully, someone that knew her well stepped in to foster her. She completed a board and train program and continues to work on her training. Krystin is thriving in her foster home with her dedicated foster momma and incredibly grateful to have her and her foster brother to help her along the way. Now, she knows what it is to live in a home and be loved. Kristyn is ready for adoption and be the best girl she can be! Kristyn is seeking a dedicated and patient human/humans willing to love and embrace her for who she is, preferably outside of an urban setting.
