True to her name, Caramel is a friendly and outgoing mush ball-o-sweetness! After a lifetime of love and loyalty, this lusciously large 85lb blue 7 year old girl was dumped at a kill shelter, alone, afraid, and devastated. She lived with and spent time around children (from toddlers to age 12). With both adults and children and other dogs, Caramel is relaxed and playful. She has experience with the entire gamete of dog sizes. she does well with large dogs, like herself, or little ones like poodles, pomeranians, and chihuahuas. Not sold yet? Caramel is also CAT friendly! She used to live with a cat, who she enjoyed snuggling with! When she can, Caramel loves to lay like a frog and wag her tail. As soon as you call her name, she will sit up and waddle over for an ole fashioned belly rub or head pet. When you its picture time, she cannot wait to sit and pose. She is an expert on selfies!
For Caramel, life is game, a party, something to enjoy! In her foster home, she just loves to breathe in the fresh air, play with her foster siblings, and thrives on being called a ‘good girl’. She also loves bath time and a nice brushing. Truly, Caramel just enjoys any time, love, and affection you can spare for her. She does not ask for much! Caramel does understands she is big and beautiful and will not conform to society’s standards. She loves to be a cuddle bug and considers wiggling and wagging her tail sufficient cardio. When a walk is too long, she will take a frog legged break and smile at you. Moving at the pace of a high speed snail and not much of a puller, a toddler could walk her. She is the perfect dog for someone just looking for a companion, or even their first dog – low energy, low maintenance, and gets along with everyone.
Friendly, affectionate, playful, and mellow, Caramel has a medium activity level. When she’s ready to play, she enjoys fetch with balls and tug on rope. House-trained, sweet, and really the best girl you can meet, Caramel is one of a kind. She enjoys going potty outside wherever she can pick up a scent. She’s well-behaved when left home alone and is trust worthy to not be crated! She knows sit, stay, and down by hand signal- among other commands. For exercise, Caramel enjoys slow walks on leash and does not pull.
At the shelter, Caramel was widely loved and extremely popular. When we found out she was due to be euthanized, we could not let this girl’s life end so tragically. She is now in a foster home and happily awaiting her next step in life.
