ADOPTED 3/23/13 LIVING FOREVER FREE IN NEW JERSEY

Molly McGuire and her sister were little female puppies posted on Craigslist as “will give away for free”! Twenty Paws was approached by a team of cross posters asking for help on these girls. Some of you may remember this story! What most people don’t know is the amount of work behind the scenes it took from our volunteers, vets, new foster families, and Linda/Rachel. TPR founders had to beg the former family not give these girls away and give us time to find them a place for them to live. What a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. In the end this turned out to be a blissful tail…now Miss Molly McGuire has been adopted and her parents are smitten with their new baby. At the start of the school year in September Molly will be attending work with her parents weekly. Molly will be allowed to work as a therapy dog for students! From Craigslist to a therapy dog, we say not a bad deal….Molly’s journey has just begun!

Molly is a darling young puppy born October 28, 2012. She, along with her twin sister, was advertised on Craigslist as free to the first taker. Her former owners were willing to meet someone in a parking lot or on the street and give her away. Luckily, a team member spotted this ad and brought it to our attention. We could not turn away! Immediately after reading the advertisement, we established communication with the family. As you can see she and her sister have some suspicious scars/marks on their little bodies. Unfortunately, we can only speculate as to where they are from. However, we do know that they were down a terrifying dark road.

Her mother was a ‘Razor’s edge’ pitbull and her father was a Staffordshire terrier. We do have a picture of each of the parents. At about 5 months old, the girls are about 45 lbs each. In regards to personality, the girls are very different from one another. Thus, they are not extremely bonded and in separate foster homes. They are both doing well and waiting for their own happily ever after!

Firstly, Molly is a good little girl!  She loves to cuddle, play and be with her people.  She can sit all day next to you on the couch or bound around outside for hours but isn’t needy for either situation.  Molly LOVES food and thinks its all for her.  In less than a week, she learned sit, her name, come and “off” and is working on stay.  Her foster parents are working with on positive reinforcement training, which was made easy by her lust for food. Molly is a talented escape artist. Sometimes things scare her, and she pulls back. Thus, she can pull out of many harnesses and collars. This angel would need a martingale collar or well fitted harness. We believe she does this because she wasn’t exposed to much in her former life.  Molly LOVES tennis balls, especially the squeaky kong tennis balls.

Molly is a wonderful girl! She came from an unfortunate and rough background. She never received any training or manners. However, now she is flourishing with boundaries, training, and love. In a week, this girl has seen a world of difference. Molly is a rambunctious free spirit. With time, love, patience, and training, this girl will be the perfect companion to anyone. She is such a love bug and strives to please. There is no doubt that she could be the one for you!
