ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED!
Hodor is our adorable gentle big baby of a giant. He is about a year old, weighs about 75lbs, and an American Bulldog Mastiff mix. When we rescued him, he was underweight and is slowly gaining what he needs to be healthy. Ideally he will be about 85lbs. Hodor came to us when we received a desperate plea from a woman that found him on the Long Island Expressway! She did what she could and kept him outside under a fence board until we could get him. If we did not take him immediately, she said he would be shelter bound. We had NO choice but to put him in boarding to save his life.
Hodor, named after his great size and gentle demeanor, is dying to be loved. It is clear that Hodor has not had an easy life. Not only was he underweight, but he had a severe skin infection. That is all treated now and he is healthy! We believe he lived either in a garage or on cement and was kept outdoors. Evidently, Hodor was used to his rough past and just beems when he gets love and affection. Although he is shy to approach new people, he does warm up quickly. Before you know it you will get some of his famous kisses!
Thus far he does get along with other dogs, although he is on the shy side. He does well with dogs of all sizes. He walks well on the leash too. It appears that he has had no basic training. However it is so clear that he is eager to please and very smart! We envision him being your best friend and pillow. HE IS TERRIFIED IN BOARDING and NEEDS A HOME. Since, at this time he is shy, scared, and a great big baby, we are looking for a home with no one under the age of 15 years old. However, deep down we believe he would be wonderful with children once he comes into his own and is truly happy.
