Gwen is a darling 1-2 year old girl that who was dumped at the Chicago Animal Shelter when she was pregnant. With 5 other Chihuahuas, she arrived to the shelter in a box stuffed into a trunk. They were in such poor condition that one of the dogs died the day after their arrival to the shelter. The other 3 dogs went into loving adoptive homes, and are now flourishing. Gwen gave birth to her puppies on Christmas. At first, she was protective of her pups. However, since they were all adopted, she blossomed into a loving, affectionate, cuddle bug who just oozes smiles at the sign of any attention.
Although Gwen can be shy at first, she is highly gregarious once comfortable. By far one of her most endearing traits is her little piggy tail, which curls over onto her back.
Gwen loves toys and playtime. Her best friends in the foster home are a boxer mix and havanese. Once playtime is over, Gwen cuddles up extra close on top of her foster siblings or on her foster’s lap.
Gwen is housebroken, crate trainedm and learning to walk on a leash. She is also learning to cure her curiosity of cats.

ALL PUPPIES WERE ADOPTED!
Gwen gave birth to 3 gorgeous puppies on May 27, 2013. She has Charlie, our future mensa member, Gabby, the demoure shy girl, and Izzy, the beloved spitfire! We rescued Gwen from a kill shelter when we was pregnant so that her babies could have a chance at a long and happy life. Gwen adores her children and is also searching for a home of her own! Gabby is all black, Izzy looks like a little shrunken Rottie/Doberman, and Charlie is a fuzzy version of his sister! All these babies will be make wonderful additions into any home!
