Brody~ Your Therapeutic Solution

posted in: Adopted Paws 0

We would like to introduce you to Brody. He is a handsome male weighing in at 65lbs and is a little over a year old. His story is heartbreaking, please read. The original owners believe he was born in April 2012. The original family could not care for Brody and turned to facebook as their final hope to saving Brody. That’s how is current family found him, through a facebook post. When a young couple and their lovely 2 year old daughter went to meet him, they fell in love and took him home. The daughter LOVES Brody; and, Brody LOVES her. It really was a perfect match.

Now comes the heartbreaking portion of the story. His current family can no longer provide Brody with the adequate love and attention he needs. Here is why: recently, their daughter was diagnosed with autism. Thus, she will require a great deal of medical care and attention. The decision to surrender Brody was not taken lightly; it weighs heavy on the family’s heart. After an extensive and distressing thought process, they are certain Brody will not have the fulfilled life he deserves if he stays with them.

Doing their best, the family takes Brody to Merry Mutts, an amazing Staten Island Doggy Day Care, frequently. Merry Mutts tell us that Brody excels in the groups. He loves to play tag with the other dogs. He really and truly gets along and gets along great with the other dogs.

Brody is a strong, lively, bouncy pup that requires exercise. He enjoys going for runs, playing at the dog park, and attending daycare. The current family feels he will thrive in a house with kids and/or another dog. He is excellent with kids, and he has been living with their 2 year old daughter. He is completely crate trained and house broken. Brody is fully vetted with shots, microchip, and neuter. Anyone that posts negative comments about this family will be banned from our page. Please keep in mind not all owner surrenders are just to dump a dog, from time to time a family has to make the toughest decision of their life to find a new home for a dog, as this family does.
