Bruni is our ten pound bundle of Doxie sugar! Poor Bruni was found wandering the streets of South Carolina severely neglected and horrifically over used for breeding. After our “throwaway momma” several liters of puppies, she found herself on an urgent euthanasia list the local shelter. The shelter informed us that she had an insignificant tumor. Usually this appears in the breed when they are bred at to young of an age. Once pulled and taken to the vet, we learned that there was a great deal more to her than we knew. Her tumor is a large mass that must be removed, and her neglect was so severe that her teeth are in severe stages of dental disease. Our little lady rested comfortably with one of our trusted vets. There she was spayed, received all vaccinations, got a dental cleaning, and had her mass examined- it turned out that it was a hernia from having too many litters-, had a full blood work-up, and dewormed. After she was quarantined and treated, she was transported to our rescue.
This sugar pie now lives like a princess with her new dad and has him all to herself!
Bruni was adopted 3/18/12 and living forever free in New Jersey.
