HOPE ADOPTED 11/26/12 LIVING FOREVER FREE IN CT
You all remember our baby Yoda! AKA Hope! Hope was found being abused by kids on the street. The good Samaritan who contacted us witnessed them kicking her and cutting her with a knife. When we picked Hope up from the streets she was on the verge of death her body was shutting done due to her flea infestation. Well here she is today with a twinkle of pure joy in her eye and most dazzling black fur ever! We could not have pulled off this miraculous rescue without our dear rescue colleague Lisa who shared our baby and her amazing foster daddy Jerry who worked with her everyday to turn her into a picture perfect little girl! Sometimes all it takes is one share on facebook to save a life!

Meet Hope. Our baby Yoda. A good samaritan rescued her from the streets in Queens as a gang of kids was beating her up. She is truly a brave soul, and for some reason, still trusts humans. The vet stated that she was indeed emaciated, dehydrated, had infected LACERATION wounds, anemic from being eaten alive by fleas, has ulcerations on her paw pads, mated on, and the SWEETEST little thing. She is about 25 lbs and a possible lab whippet mix. Her teeth are spotless and she is estimated to be between 4-5 months old. However, it is impossible to tell since she is, and clearly has always been, malnourished and neglected. She let me clip her nails last night and give her another bath, this time it was a massaging bath with oatmeal and love. She is petrified of everything, BUT warms up quickly and excited to place her head in your lap or between your legs and solicit pets. She does not show any fear or aggression towards other dogs, just caution. However, she is doing well with the pack right now, just keeping to herself. Sadly this girl is constantly shaking and dodging every noise and new object. She has clearly never been in a home…everything is foreign to her.
