BABY ADOPTED 3/23 LIVING FOREVER FREE IN NY
Baby came to us in the most desperate of circumstances. Her family was homeless and chose to live on the streets rather than give her up to a shelter. Abandoning her meant they would be accepted into a shelter, but it also meant a horrifying fate for Baby. Then they found someone they thought they could trust. They visited her regularly and brought her food. Soon they saw Baby was being abused and starved. The person they trusted sold Baby’s food and hit her. So back into the streets they went. Her father walked up to every single person he saw in a park in Manhattan with the dog and asked if they knew anybody that could help him and his baby. Our number got passed along to him and we got her out that night. Babys former family left her with all their heart, and they still do. However, circumstances of life got in the way and they did what was best for her. After a long road, Baby is now in her forever home. She is as happy as she can be and once again the apple of her someone’s eye. We wish you all the love and happiness in the world, Baby. You will no longer ever know pain, starvation, where the harsh reality of homelessness. We love you and your family deeply and wish you all a lifetime of happiness.
Meet gorgeous Baby. She is our 3 year old 35lb pit mix who came to us from some of the saddest circumstances. If you would like to read her story please see below. Baby loves other dogs, children, and humans. She also enjoys car rides and snuggling with you. This darling would do well in a home or apartment as she is polite as a princess. Her name, Baby, suits her well since she has the spirit of a puppy and loves to play. Despite her sad past, Baby’s spirit is unbroken. She is one of those dogs that reminds us the true meaning of rescue and the real resilience of the pit bull Baby is house broken, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.

Her family, who loved her dearly, lost their home and were evicted to a life in the street. They refused to go to a shelter until they could put Baby somewhere they thought was safe. They found a home for her with an acquaintance who promised to look after her. When her family went to the shelter, they worked to scramble up whatever cash they could to buy Baby dog food and pay the woman ‘caring’ for her to ensure she’s well cared for. After 2 weeks, they found out that the woman was selling the dog food they brought for Baby to a local grocer. Instead of food, the woman was feeding Baby bones. Upon confronting the woman about this horrifying breach of trust, Baby’s mom saw the woman kick and hit Baby when she entered the apartment. Needless to say there was a huge argument and Baby’s mom took Baby out of there immediately without a moment’s hesitation. This doomed her family back to the streets as they could not bare to leave Baby in such a perilous situation again. Now Baby, scared and thin, needed a home. For days they stayed outside with her. Then, her dad decided to walk around asking pet owners if they knew anywhere that they could give their darling Baby and know she will be safe forever. One of those he approached was one of our adopters. She immediately thought of us and gave him our number. After speaking with him, her father stated that a close friend of his was taking her for a couple nights so they could stay at a shelter and regain some strength. However, we did not peace of mind once we found out that Baby was staying in one of the most dangerous projects in the Bronx. So off we went to get Baby immediately. We did not have a place to put her so Linda and Rachel spent the night in Rachel’s car to keep her safe. Luckily an amazing supporter thought of her cousin to foster Baby. That night, baby slept so sweet and soundly as though she hadn’t rested before in her life. The next day, while taking Baby to the vet and got her cared for, our biggest concern was that she was on a bone only diet for a while, we also worked to approve that foster home. LUCKY BABY WAS HEALTHY! After the vet visit, we went to the foster home and Baby was finally able to relax. Baby’s family clearly loves and cares for her. They contact Rachel to check on her often. Sadly she is a victim of circumstance. Lucky for her many people, including her former parents, fought to bring her to safety. Please help us ensure she is forever safe and loved.
